Planning a trip to Asia?

Asia is one of the most diverse and historically rich regions in the world. It’s where some of the earliest civilisations developed, and where ideas, trade, and culture have been moving and evolving for thousands of years. You feel that almost immediately when you travel here. History isn’t just something you visit, it’s part of the landscape.

It’s also a region that has been at the forefront of innovation for much of history. Long before modern Europe, places like ancient China were developing technologies and systems that shaped the world, from paper and printing to early engineering and trade networks. That sense of progression and influence still carries through today.

Geographically, Asia is huge, and how it’s divided isn’t always clear. Some regions overlap depending on how you look at it, and certain countries sit across multiple continents or cultural groupings. Because of that, you’ll often see different ways of describing parts of Asia, depending on the context.

Personally, I think it makes more sense to think of Asia as a collection of completely distinct places rather than one single region. The landscapes, cultures, languages, and experiences can change dramatically from one country to the next.

What ties it all together is that depth. The history, the innovation, and the scale of it make Asia one of the most fascinating places to travel.
